If you are considering a session…
or have booked a private session with me, you are probably wondering just what you are getting yourself into! You may feel some trepidation or nervousness. That is to be expected and it’s totally normal. I will do my best to give you a sense of what a session is like.
I work in partnership with my allies.
They are all knowing, benevolent beings, my spiritual team if you will and we work together on your behalf. I access their help, wisdom and knowledge via a technique called the shamanic journey, which allows me to go into a meditative state through rhythmic drumming or rattling. In this way, I’m able to enter non-ordinary reality and commune with the world of Spirit to restore balance, sovereignty, spiritual power and a sense of wellbeing to my clients.
You get to be on the receiving end and little is required of you except to relax and breathe.
Most of what I do is subtle energy work done off the body, so you may not feel anything during a session. Please don’t be concerned. Most people don’t feel anything. Shamanic work is subtle, yet profound and it can take time for it to fully integrate inside you and for you to feel shifts and changes happening.
During the session I will either be using a drum or rattle or both to enter into a meditative state.
I also have power songs that I sing during a session that help me stay connected to my helping spirits. Sometimes I’m guided to sing a healing song that I’ve been given or that comes to me during our work together. Again, nothing for you to do, but receive.
The work we do together is determined ahead of time.
Before we meet, I do what is called a diagnostic journey to ask if I can be of service to you. If I’m given the green light, then I ask my allies for what is needed to help you in your life now and I’m given what is called your Sacred Prescription. The Sacred Prescription is what guides our work together.
Depending on the work we do together, you may feel a bit wonky after the session.
This will dissipate as the work unfolds and integrates within you. I encourage you to bring a healthy snack and water with you to help ground yourself after your session and before you leave.
I can honestly say that this beautiful, ancient spiritual practice has quite literally changed me from the inside out.
